Contemplative Listening. A partial definition: noticing my thoughts and feelings about things in life, but not stopping there. Training myself to listen for and open to a new vision, a creative, inspired, eternal vision of what is happening. Not merely in spite of my small reaction, but in addition to it.
That sounds like nonjudgmental awareness. The practice of which will slowly broaden ones field of view and enable one to see, enjoy, and be grateful for the "new mercies" that are creatively woven into each morning.
