Trusting Coercion

We keep trusting coercion, through rational argument and physical force, Jesus, being a fisher of men and women, lured.

You can say it doesn't work, Jesus was executed, after all. And in the short term a gun, and sometimes, though less and less, a convincing argument will win the day. But in the long story it is the beautiful, it is the lure that brings good.

Re-read the entire bible story arc with this in mind and see if you don't discover that God's ways are not coercive after all, but invitational, in-spirit-ational.
